The Commack Cougars are fighting hard to make sure to keep their hopes of Suffolk County championship alive.
The Commack varsity baseball team took down No. 7-ranked Patchogue Medford, 4-0, on Wednesday afternoon to advance in the loser's bracket of the Suffolk County Class AA Championship.
Pitcher Matt Fick threw a three-hit, four-strikeout game on Wednesday afternoon, denying Patchogue Medford of any chance of catching up after the Cougars took a four-run lead in the fourth inning.
Commack will travel to take on the No. 4-ranked Smithtown East team Friday at 4 p.m., who lost to the No.1-ranked Connetquot on Wednesday.
