Summer Lacrosse Returns, Needs Players

Coach hopes keeping local athletes over the summer builds camaraderie for the school year.

The Team Commack Summer Lacrosse league is ready to face off, but it needs varsity, junior varsity and junior high athletes to fill its rosters.

Coached by varsity coach Nick Alavarado, junior varsity coach Dave Moran and junior high coach Eric Kast, the teams are made up of 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th graders from the Commack community. Alvarado's goal is to keep the players from participating with any other outside summer leagues, believing it will help the program grow by having the players stay connected in the off-season.

"The best teams are the ones that play with each other year round and benefit from the camaraderie of team work," he said.
