Track and Field Star Competes in Empires

Commack athlete, and Saint Anthony's High School senior Tom Harty is the only local athlete to represent in the Track and Field competition.

Tom Harty is the only Commack athlete headed to the Empire State Games for the Track and Field competition. He is a senior at St. Anthony's High School and plans to use the Empire State Games as an experience builder, he said. He is competing in hammer throw, shot-put and discus.

"I'm looking forward to and am very excited about representing the Long Island region (in the Empire State Games) for Track and Field. I know I will be competing against some of the best athletes in New York up in Buffalo," said Harty.

This past school year Harty participated in all three of these events in indoor and outdoor Track and Field.
