East End Fireworks Set for Holiday & Beyond

Locals looking to head East to see the bombs burst in air, here's your guide.

Since a fireworks show draws a crowd from near and far, we're offering this guide to the explosive pyrotechnics set from Montauk to Westhampton all summer long, so you'll have plenty of chances to catch a show.

July 3:

North Sea: Fireworks during the 67th annual North Sea Fire Department's Carnival at the Fireman's Memorial Field off Noyac Road. See first show on June 30 for more information.

July 3

Riverhead: An Independence Day celebration will be held on the Peconic Riverfront, featuring two bands and a fireworks display. The Blues Brotherhood, a tribute to the Blues Brothers, will perform, starting at 7 p.m.

July 4

Montauk: The only fireworks show on the Fourth of July in East Hampton Town, the Montauk Chamber of Commerce sponsors this annual event, which starts at 9 p.m. Set off from Umbrella Beach, about one-third west of town, the show can be viewd from any ocean beach. Donations accepted at the chamber office. Raindate: July 5

Westhampton: The Westhampton Country Club puts on a fireworks display, but you don't have to be a member to enjoy the show; they are visible from various locations throughout the village. Showtime: around 9 p.m.

Greenport: The carnival's in town from July 3 through 7 and fireworks are part of the show tonight. The show starts at 10 p.m., at the Greenport School. Repeates July 7.

July 21

East Hampton: The Clamshell Foundation's annual Geat Bonac Fireworks Show over Three Mile Harbor benefits the foundation's programs on the East End. Show starts between 9:20 and 9:30 p.m.

Aug. 25

Riverhead: More fireworks at the Riverhead Raceway before the summer's over. Show starts at 9 p.m. RAIN DATE: Sept. 1

Sept. 1

East Hampton: Main Beach fireworks will close out the summer on Labor Day weekend. The East Hampton Fire Department puts on the display through donations. RAIN DATE: Sept. 2

Correction: The Clamshell Foundation's fireworks are not a benefit for the Max for a Cure Foundation. A seperate benefit is held that same night that does benefit Max for a Cure, which is being held at the Duke residence. WCBS News anchor Chris Wragge is the evening's honorary co-chair, along with Rose and John Franco.

The annual Town of Hempstead show at Point Lookout as well as the Eisenhower Park fireworks show both took place Saturday evening. According to another Patch reader, there is a show tomorrow evening: For all of you in western Nassau there is always the show at Fireman's Field in Valley Stream. Gates open July 4th at 6:30pm (Emerson Place or Albermarle Avenue entrances to Firemen's Field). You can buy tickets for $5.00 to get in the gates or just sit outside and watch the show in the sky.
