Commack Nonprofit Receives Grant to Help Needy LI Children
Long Island's Helping Hands is awarded $5,000.
A Commack nonprofit recently received a $5,000 grant from two local organizations to enhance the lives of children in need on Long Island.
Peter J. Klein, CFA, Senior Vice President, UBS Financial Services and President of the Claire Frieldlander Family Foundation presented the grant to Steven A. Jarmon, Executive Director of M'Yad L'Yad - Long Island's Helping Hands, located in Commack.
M'Yad L'Yad, Long Island's Helping Hands is dedicated to enhancing the lives of the needy on Long Island. Through anonymous pairing of volunteer sponsors with recipients, they extend a helping hand to provide not only material assistance, as well as ongoing relationships, friendship and dignity.

"The Claire Friedlander Family Foundation is proud to support, M'Yad L'Yad's important work as they connect anonymous sponsors with needy families across Long Island," said Peter J. Klein, Claire Friedlander Family Foundation President. "To give, in a professional and serious manner, is a weighty responsibility. As stewards of a philanthropic legacy, we seek to make an active difference in the initiatives we support."
The Claire Friedlander Family Foundation was established by Claire Friedlander, a Holocaust Survivor whose life was saved by people who took a stand against prejudice and intolerance.
