Will You Donate Food to the Hungry During the Holidays?

Help out those in need this month.

With Thanksgiving a little more than one week away, people are stocking up on all the food items necessary for a wonderful holiday feast – but the harsh reality is that many people on Long Island will go hungry on Thanksgiving.

The collects donations all year round, and various businesses and schools throughout the community regularly feature donation boxes, which get picked up or brought to a donation center before the holidays.

Long Island Cares, based in Hauppauge, also collects donations throughout Long Island to help feed local families year-round. They'll be posted at King Kullen in Commack on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. to collect food from shoppers and residents.
