In 1988 I was living in Lindenhurst, the town I grew up in. My sister moved to Ft. Salonga, so my husband and I decided to move somewhere between my parents in Lindenhurst and my sister and her family in Ft. Salonga. We saw an ad for a home for sale in a town with a funny name..."Commack." I had never heard of Commack, so I called a friend who lived in the Smithtown Pines. He said, "Whether the house is overpriced, needs work, whatever, buy it. And if you don't buy it, I will! Everyone wants to live in Commack." We took his advice and made Commack our home. One special thing I remember about the day we moved in...We purchased the house from the Keller family (long-time residents of Commack). As Beth Keller was walking away from the house for the last time, she said, "Our happiness will echo in this house forever." Well, Beth's words still ring true 25+ years later! (Okay, that was sappy.
