Halloween Happening; Relay for Life Meeting Highlight Week

A look at upcoming activities and events this week in town.

Halloween Happening
Children and families are invited to participate in Commack High School's Halloween Happening this Friday in the South Gymnasium from 4-6 p.m. Children will walk through the decorated hallways that follow this year’s theme, "Despicable Me." The tour will end in the cafeteria where participants will be able to play games, decorate cupcakes, take part in arts and crafts, and many other activities. Children can also go through a haunted house, however, it may be too scary for younger children. Parents are asked to donate $1 and a nonperishable food item during their visit.

Relay for Life Meeting

Relay For Life will hold its first meeting for volunteers Oct. 23 at Commack High School in room 104 at 7 p.m. Relay for Life is an overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money to help the American Cancer Society save lives, help those who have been touched by cancer, and empower individuals to fight back against the disease.

School Board Meeting
The Commack School Board will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. at Commack High School.

Meet the Candidates Night with Commack Community Association
The Commack Community Association will meet Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Commack Public Library on Hauppauge Road. Members will meet the candidates for Town Supervisor, and discuss local issues including truck traffic on Townline Road and blighted properties.
