This Week: H & R Block Reopen, Pet Supplies Store Fills Gap at Mayfair

Happy Monday, Commack. It's the last week of January. Here's a look at what you should know:

H & R Block Reopens in Time for Tax Season
H & R Block is now open at the Mayfair Shopping Center in Commack. The tax service provider closed in April of last year, but reopened this month as the newest year-round office.

Choice Pet Supply Comes to Mayfair
A new pet supplies store, Choice Pet Supply, has moved into the Mayfair Shopping Center. The store is located between Rite Aid and Cactus Salon and Spa. Levin Management, the leasing and managing agent for Mayfair, announced Jan. 10 that the pet store signed a lease at the retail center. Choice Pet Supply will have to compete with both Petco and PetSmart, also in Commack.

Commack Community Association Meeting
The Commack Community Association will meet Monday at the Commack Public Library (18 Hauppauge Rd., Commack) at 7 p.m. Huntington Supervisor Frank Petrone will be present to discuss truck traffic on Townline Road.

Sunny Weather Ahead
After two weeks of snow in a row, it appears Commack will get a break this week. Sunny weather is expected for most of the week with showers possible Monday. Forecasters suggest the high Monday will be 38 degrees, however, the cold will come back in Tuesday with a high of 17 degrees.
