Voting at PHYSICAL polling places. Now there's a component of elections that is antiquated andRead More should be done away with. Once Al Gore invented the internet we had no further need for PHYSICAL polling places - except for those who have no internet access or those like my mother-in-law who do not have a computer or understand the internet. Most of the country should vote on-line from the comfort of their own keyboard. The big question is WHY don't we?? Well, you could fret that the Federal Government might be incapable of building such a site, based on recent events. But the REAL reason is that to go to a website to vote you would have to positively IDENTIFY yourself. And, the left certainly would not want to create such a hardship on their fine, upstanding constituents.

Steve Israel should be ashamed of himself. Ever since he became head of the DemocraticRead More Congressional Campaign Committee, he has moved further and further left. I cannot believe this man is a suitable representative for the electorate of his district. I look forward to voting for his opponent in November.

I would like to thank everyone for supporting Congressman Israel. If he is not re-elected, I willRead More lose my unemployment insurance, free health care for my family and will need to find work. By the way, does anyone know if Obamacare covers braces?

I don't understand why there are no north-south routes out here like NY135/SOB expressway, with noRead More freakin' traffic lights every 100 feet. Take Route 51, which travels mostly through farmland, from Moriches to Riverhead and you will stop at lights, where there is one lone car making a turn. Huh? Yeah, at 55 or 60 mph, slam on the brakes! I lived in Nassau County many years and could easily get from Merrick Rd. to Jericho Tpk. in about 20 minutes. Try that here. SOL.
brookhavenconfucius April 10, 2014 at 12:29 pm
THE CORRUPTION IN THIS AREA, IS EXTENSIVE. FOR EXAMPLE, You have Town Traffic Dept. managementRead More employees...PUBLIC EMPLOYEES... 'moonlighting' as consultants with private, traffic design firms...IN PLAIN SIGHT ! And when you make a complaint to the Town about a politically connnected, local business, who contributes to traffic violations, say, and the Town employee alerts the violators to 'back off' for a few days, until the heat cools down, and then it's business as usual. BELIEVE ME, THEY RUN AWAY, when you confront them about it...but that's all that happens...back to bu$ine$$ as U$ual !

Far more children are killed by autos than by handguns or even homocide in general.Read More (http://theincidentaleconomist.com/wordpress/what-kills-kids/ ) We must crack down now on ALL convicted persons who have "violent" convictions in their past, from having the right to ever drive a car again. We had MAJOR gas shortages and lines in Long Island after Hurricane Sandy. Like him or not, Gov.Read More Christie initiated odd/even days in NJ and the shortage ended.
