Bio I am a native Long Islander and my husband and I love living on the south shore of Long Island.

After graduating from Long Island University's CW Post campus with a degree in journalism, I started my career at Nassau County's Anton Community Newspapers covering Syosset, Jericho and Plainview. I have always had a passion for community journalism, but wanted to work closer to home and cover a neighboring community. Sayville Patch is a perfect fit.

My husband and I were married at Lands End in Sayville and often walk down Main Street with our kids, eat at the great restaurants and stop to play at Sayville's parks.

When I am not in front of my laptop covering this great community, I enjoy watching the Mets and spending time with my family.

Beliefs

At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.

Politics

How would you describe your political beliefs? I am more issue oriented than party oriented.

Are you registered with a certain party? I am registered Independent.

Religion

Do you consider yourself really religious? No.

Do you identify with a certain religion? I am catholic.

Local Hot-Button Issues

What do you think are the most important issues facing the community?

Keeping Sayville a vibrant community is important and with the high cost of living in New York, Sayville residents are focused on keeping the young people in their community and keeping Main Street alive.

Where do you stand on each of these issues?

I agree that keeping our young residents here is important, but also challenging with the state of the economy.
