C2 Education Opening New Learning Center in Commack

Learning center offers summer programs, SAT and ACT prep courses.

A new educational learning center will be opening its doors in Commack just in time to help combat brain drain over summer vacation.

C2 Education will be opening its doors at 6300 Jericho Turnpike in the Commack Towers shopping plaza. The learning center hopes to offer parents ways to keep their children learning over summer break.

"Summer presents a challenge for educators and students alike,” said David Kim, C2's co-founder and CEO, in a statement. “Students often lose months of grade level equivalency in reading and math during the summer months, leaving teachers struggling to help students catch up at the beginning of each school year.”

C2 Education offers a wide range of customizable educational programs for students in grades kindergarten - 12th grade. Its academic services include K-12 subject tutoring, SAT preparation, ACT preparation and college admissions counseling.

A Grand Opening celebration with ribbon cutting is set for June 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Families and their children are invited down to learn about C2's programs and tour the facilities. There will be a free college admissions seminar led by one of C2's academic advisors at 6 p.m.

C2 Learning was started as a private tutoring service run out of a Harvard University dorm room, according to its website. The company now has more than 110 locations across the nation, serving more than 12,000 students and their families each week.
