Indie Opens in Commack

Indie, a sister boutique to Emily Sky geared for teens and young women, celebrated its grand opening Thursday at the Peppertree Commons in Commack.

Owner Laura Greenfield said that shop has received great feedback from teens and moms.

Like it’s namesake, Indie, is all about empowering teens and young women to be themselves. The store’s slogan touts, “Be you, be true, be Indie,” emphasizing the belief in expressing one’s individuality and not just following the crowd.

In addition to clothes, Indie also sells shoes and accessories. To meet the needs of their younger clientele, the store also has a price cap. Every item in the shop is less than $100.

Idie is Greenfield’s third store. She and partner Kelly Sky, who has since passed away, opened Emily Sky in Plainview in 2009. The Commack location opened in 2008.
