Commack Graduates Earn $27.5 Million in Scholarships

The senior class is one of the district's most academically successful.

The Class of 2013 was one of the Commack School District's most academically successful classes in school history. 

The 628 seniors, who graduated Sunday, earned $27.5 million in scholarship monies.

In addition, 99.2 percent of the grade earned Regents diplomas and 82.3 percent of them earned advanced regents diplomas - the most in Commack's history, according to the school.

Here's one last look at the class' accomplishments this year:

  • 99 percent Will Attend College or Military Academies
  • $27.5 million in scholarship money was awarded to 2013 Grads
  • 272 acceptances to the most highly-selective colleges in the country
  • 368 acceptances to the most selective SUNY universities in the State
  • 496 student registrations in Syracuse University, CW Post, Stony Brook University, St. John’s and/or Adelphi college-level courses for college credit
  • There were 447 acceptances to very selective private colleges
  • 1665 – Average SAT Score – More than 160 Points Above the National Average
  • 99.2 percent Regents Diploma Rate
  • 82.3 percent Earned Advanced Regents Diplomas -the most in the District’s history, according to the school.
