After graduating from Commack High School, the point guard went to Ohio State. While there, Prahalis set a school record, scoring 42 points in her final game before being drafted by the Mercury. Prahalis was picked seventh by the Mercury in the 2012 WNBA draft and averaged 11.6 points and 4.5 assists last season. She was also named to the 2012 WNBA All-Rookie Team.

During her WNBA career so far, Prhalis recorded 43 assists in her first seven WNBA games, in which she tied for the fifth most in league history. She went on to add 53 in first nine WNBA games, tied for fourth most. In addition, she had at least six assists in four straight games (May 31-June 8, 2012), the longest streak by a rookie in franchise history and the longest streak by a rookie in the league since Noelle Quinn in 2007 (five straight games).

Prahalis was a free agent, but New York had room on its roster after waiving forward Avery Warley last week, according to the Associated Press.

Prahalis took to Twitter to share the good news.
