It seems like just yesterday kids were waving goodbye to teachers and homework and looking forward to two months of sleeping in, summer camp and summer jobs, and a respite from all things school.
And now, two months later, that has come to end. Children will return to carrying backpacks that weigh more than they do, parents will need to memorize new after school activity schedules for their kids, and big yellow buses will once again become a common sight on Commack's road.
The Commack School District website is a great resource for parents and kids to get information pertaining to any of the eight schools that comprise the district (in addition to Commack Patch, of course).
Whether you have some last-minute back-to-school shopping to do or have to wait for a supplies list from teachers, Commack kids and parents have plenty of options, from to , to , to , Target ( of ) to and dozens of other shops.
Parents who want to get involved with Commack's schools have two groups to get familiar with: the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the Board of Education. Details on both can be found at the School District website.
