Fire Engulfs Historical Johnson’s Farm
Flames engulfed a 110-year-old farm in East Northport late Monday afternoon.

Johnson's Farm located at 123 Cedar Road, caught fire shortly after 4 p.m. Owner Howard Johnson lives on the property, but the fire did not spread to the house. No one was home at the time of fire.

Missing Commack Man With Dementia Found in NYC
A Commack man who suffers from dementia went missing Wednesday. 

James Young, 77, was found uninjured in New York City, Suffolk County Police said.


Commack School Budget Discussions Come to a Close

The Commack School Board of Education held its final budget hearing on Thursday at Burr Intermediate School, ending the last of the formal spending plan discussions before the vote on May 21.

Commack's school board unanimously adopted the 2013-14 school budget of $179,386,921 April 18.

Outdoor Dining May Come to Commack
A local architect appeared before Smithtowns Board of Zoning Appeals in April to request a special exception for a 993-square-foot outdoor dining area at a restaurant he is designing for 2188 Jericho Turnpike in Commack.  The restaurant, owned by a private individual, is tentatively named “Burger Station,” although this is likely to change.
