Alarm Thwarts Attempted Break-In Verbena Drive

Nothing was stolen from the home and the intruder is still at large.

An individual attempted to break in to a residence in Commack on the evening of May 18, Suffolk police said. .

At 4:15 p.m. an intruder, in an attempt to break in to a residence located on Verbena Drive, broke the rear glass door of the home, police said.

Upon breaking the glass door, an alarm went off, causing the would-be intruder to flee.

No items were stolen from the residence, and no injuries were reported.
